Ultrasonic diffraction at Fresnel zone plate (lense) / Fresnel zone contruction

Principle: A plane ultrasonic wave strikes a Fresnel zone plate. The sound intensity is determined as a function of the distance, using an ultrasonic detector that can be moved in the direction of the zone plate axis.

Tasks:
1.   Determine and plot a graph of the intensity of the ultrasound behind Fresnel zone plates as a function of the distance from the plate.
2.   Carry out the same measurement series without plates.
3.   Determine the focal points of the zone plates and compare the values found with those theoretically expected.
